Welcome to LeontyLiving

Welcome to LeontyLiving.

My name is Erin Leonty. I'm a career gal and FTM seeking a healthier lifestyle. Why? To become a strong, healthy role model for my daughter, Ava Elizabeth Leonty! She is my WHY!

In an effort to stay focused on my goal, I've started a hobby of exchanging fitness and nutrition tips. In addition, I lead virtual group fitness challenges to inspire others to get healthy!

About Me

Hi, I'm so glad you took the time to pop over and check out my website!

My name is Erin Leonty. I am both a PROUD Mommy & a Beachbody Coach that is passionate about seeing others realize their own potential and then achieve things they never thought possible! I love spending time with my family and friends and enjoy music, gardening, and being outside, I also love chilling and doing absolutely nothing (although those days are but a distant memory)! I'm not your typical gluten-free, vegan, health junky but I'm not a junk addict either.

My transformation journey:
I never used to be one to put fitness and nutrition top of mind. As a busy career gal, my work, family, and friends are my priority and, trust me, I had a bad habit of finding every excuse in the book for why I was too busy to (fill in the blank).  In the past, I've tried many times to get into better shape with running, bootcamp, yoga etc. However, inevitably, I would fall off the bandwagon, losing my resolve until the next spark of motivation would tap me on the shoulder - only to get busy and fall off again. (Sound familiar?)

Although I've been moderately overweight since after high school, I've always been a fairly confident person, comfortable knowing that my goofy personality and smarts were 'my thing'.  I HATED being in a bathing suit, but I'll rock a dance floor with unabashed enthusiasm.  I DARE you to bring on the kareoke!

It wasn't until I was 6 months pregnant that I began to get more serious about my health. I was expecting my first child, a daughter. And all of a sudden mortality became a word in my vocabulary. It wasn't about me any more, it was about this beautiful child who deserved the BEST from me for as long as God was willing to keep me here.  I began being more selective in the foods that I put into my body, I began drinking more water, I began prioritizing my yoga classes.. and as any pregnant woman can tell you, I *learned* to nap and get my butt to bed early! I had decided to give birth naturally, a thought that both empowered me and scared the crap out of me! So in addition to the physical preparation, I learned techniques to strengthen my mental focus. It was important for me to trust that I would not let fear grab hold of me during labour and that my mind would be strong enough to know that I could do it! Well, I can tell you, it was beautiful, it was natural, and it was wonderful.  All of a sudden, Ava had entered our world and we weren't looking back. I was so proud of myself and felt that if I could give birth, I could do ANYTHING!... =P

Well, post-partum recovery and sleepless nights took their toll and this newly empowered mama and sadly, I started GAINING weight.  I felt SO incredibly tired and too weak to stand and bounce Ava all day and into the evenings. My body was a hurting' unit. Stepping on the scale, I weighed 7lbs more than the day I gave birth and that's when I new I needed to do something.  I NEEDED to get healthy to be able to care for Ava.  This wasn't about cute dresses, short shorts and looking good for summer. I needed to be able to lift my growing baby, dance around the living room with her, and help her develop healthy habits that will fuel her dreams! I didn't want her hearing me say, "I feel fat", or "No, I don't feel like going.." and I wanted her to develop a healthy relationship with food and not fear it.

I was invited to join a 60-day group fitness challenge by one of the moms in my mom's group.  At first I was skeptical, given my track record, and worried that this investment would collect dust on my media shelf like my yoga dvds and treadmill. However, the notion of being held accountable and participating with other women in a supportive environment, from the comfort of my home, strongly appealed to me!  I decided to give it a go!  The first few weeks were tough to get into the rhythm, but I made it my priority to "just push play" and drink my shake early in the day. I learned that it's MIND OVER MATTER.  Every day I had a million excuses, but I pushed them out of my mind before they could grab hold. Before I knew it, the pounds were melting away! More importantly, I had MUCH MORE ENERGY to get me through the day. After 60 days, I had lost 15lbs and gained some positive and lasting habits.

After the challenge concluded, I decided to sign-up as a Beachbody coach in order to take advantage of a 25% discount off the Shakeology formula. It's packed with the nutrition and had helped curb my cravings and gave me energy in my day. I've never found such a comprehensive, clean, nutritionally dense ingredient list and highly recommend this to everyone.  Once a part of the Beachbody team, I realized that I could continue to push myself and hold myself accountable to commit and succeed by hosting my own fitness challenges while motivating others to do the same!  I'm so encouraged by the enthusiasm of my challengers and feel such gratification when I see them succeed!

I'm now down over 25lbs in 4 months, which I never dreamed would be possible!! My body is strong and it's getting stronger! An unexpected benefit is that my MIND is getting stronger too! As a Beachbody coach, I've immersed myself in a positive and supportive environment to help me stay focused on my goals. I'm not perfect, never will be! I'm striving hard to keep fuelling, keep moving, and keep inspiring!

I know, deep in my heart, that sometimes it just takes one person, one event, one moment to help set you on the right course.  My hope is that this journey will inspire you to take the steps you need to be your BEST SELF.  Don't just survive, thrive! You can be the change you want to see in the world. It starts with you, and I'm here to cheer you on!

All you need to do is DECIDE, COMMIT, and SUCCEED!
